Let’s take it back to 2024. I started Valley Cold Plunges as a passion project one year ago during a time where so many companies hit the market at once. The company is based in a hot climate, with consistent 100+ degree summer days, and I was wanting to bring an affordable cold plunge to the market that could withstand high temps and cool down below 40 degrees. I worked with manufacturers to come up with a solution and before you know it, I had over 20 units in stock, sitting in my warehouse.
My offer to the public was two cold plunges of different sizes with the same 1HP chiller, with extras that most competitors weren’t providing. I priced it with the market average at $3250, then $2999, and now, $1999. The cold plunge market became saturated and various brands started to advertise ridiculously low prices that mathematically didn’t pencil out. At $1999, we break even, and you get a 6-month warranty for manufacturer defects only, you still get the extra parts, and you pay for your own shipping.
Why did we lower the price so drastically? We still have products in the warehouse from last year and want to bring a newer version to the public. The kicker, as a passion project, there aren’t enough funds to bring new products to the business, so the goal is to get the remaining product into your backyard to bring an incredible cold plunge experience to you, while breaking even to be able to put some money back into the passion project.
